We are still under construction at our home base! Please join us at the old Sutherlands building in the Country Mart parking lot until further notice!
Come by CFP this Saturday at 10am for a free WOD. Open to the public! If you've been wondering about what we are all about, this is your chance to check it out!
First. Competition. Ever.
It was an experience. Over 2 hours for a rain delay. A VERY wet first WOD. The newness of it all was almost overwhelming (and I was just watching!). It is so fast paced and loud. It's exciting and nerve wracking and vomit inducing all at the same time!
Our two men's scaled teams were put to the test in 4 grueling WODS consisting of snatches, thrusters, wall balls, snatches, box jumps, snatches, burpees, jerks, running, more snatches, pull ups, cleans....ugh!
Ok, there really wasn't THAT many snatches, but there was a ton of overhead work being done! Our guys plowed through the workouts, with a cheering squad right there beside them. Team R&D (Rob and Darren) came in 21st place and The Mi(c)key and Jon show came in 27th. It was a true test for each of them. They all have their strengths, but by the end of the day, it came down to who had the heart to pull through.
One thing I can say over and over again about our CrossFit Parsons family, is that they are full of heart. Truly some of the best people I know. So, congrats to the guys who competed at WODFest! But a huge thank you to all of you here at home! Thanks for supporting a guy with a passion to help others in their fitness journeys and thanks for coming back day after day.
Believe you can and one day you will.
Not long ago, we decided to try to compete in the Midwest WODFest in Joplin. Mostly for fun, but also for the immense learning experience it would be for our Box members. Learn we DID! We spent more time drilling skill work, practicing technique and adding a noon WOD several times a week. Timing is a funning thing sometimes....because in the midst of all this, we were approached by a very talented and seasoned CrossFitter to use our gym for training for the Masters Cup in Dallas (she brought home a SILVER!!). In exchange for using our Box to train, Stephanie Grams worked with us on some very important lifts. She helped tweak our form, gave tips to help make us better and faster. She was a huge help, and we cannot thank her enough! Thank you, thank you, Stephanie! You are welcome here anytime!
Take time to enjoy time with loved ones this holiday weekend, be safe, and remember those who fought so greatly for this country! Fly those flags proudly!
We will have a WOD at 10am for anyone interested.
June schedule is up! Please note that all classes excluding 6am will start at 15 minutes after the posted times. We all need to work on being more punctual! It's summer....go spend some time with your families!
In case anyone has forgotten the real reason for Memorial Day, we are doing a hero WOD today.
It's not about the BBQ, the lake time or the day off of work. It's a day to reflect on and remember those who have fought and/or given their lives so we can live freely in this great country.
We all have known or lost someone in the military, so please take time out today to honor them in some way. Say thank you, plant flowers in memory, or go pay your respects. These brave men and women deserve at least that. Thank you for all that you do for our country!

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

We had our first fun outing as a group running the Warrior Dash in Tulsa to help raise money for St. Jude hospitals. Everyone had a blast and we plan on making it an annual event! Hopefully next year everyone will be joining us!
