First. Competition. Ever.
It was an experience. Over 2 hours for a rain delay. A VERY wet first WOD. The newness of it all was almost overwhelming (and I was just watching!). It is so fast paced and loud. It's exciting and nerve wracking and vomit inducing all at the same time!
Our two men's scaled teams were put to the test in 4 grueling WODS consisting of snatches, thrusters, wall balls, snatches, box jumps, snatches, burpees, jerks, running, more snatches, pull ups, cleans....ugh!
Ok, there really wasn't THAT many snatches, but there was a ton of overhead work being done! Our guys plowed through the workouts, with a cheering squad right there beside them. Team R&D (Rob and Darren) came in 21st place and The Mi(c)key and Jon show came in 27th. It was a true test for each of them. They all have their strengths, but by the end of the day, it came down to who had the heart to pull through.
One thing I can say over and over again about our CrossFit Parsons family, is that they are full of heart. Truly some of the best people I know. So, congrats to the guys who competed at WODFest! But a huge thank you to all of you here at home! Thanks for supporting a guy with a passion to help others in their fitness journeys and thanks for coming back day after day.
Believe you can and one day you will.
